Almost everyone has some sort of a significant  aspiration or goal they hope to fulfill in the future. Yet achieving  goals can be a lot more complex if you don’t have a clear vision and if  you let your inner fears and doubts take over. Understanding  what drives you, that feeling of ownership, and that sense of  accomplishment are part of understanding your own “Why” in life.

Dr. Ruba Amarin bio

Dr.  Amarin is a strategy and energy professional with more than 15 years of  experience in renewable energy, smart grid technologies, energy sector  policy reform, remote-sensing and technology commercialization. As the  Director, Advanced Energy Technologies, she supports business  development efforts and leads technology innovations to reduce emissions  and shape the future of energy in emerging markets.  Dr. Amarin is currently managing the USAID-funded Papua New Guinea  Electrification Partnership Activity aiming to support PNG achieve 70%  electrification by 2030 through focusing on transforming the electric  utility into a modernized and financially sustainable  entity; developing viable off-grid electrification models; enhancing  the country’s energy regulatory authority and mobilizing private capital  to drive economic growth. For almost 15 years she managed staff, as  well as designing and managing a portfolio of  projects, including programs supporting energy policy analysis and  clean energy investments. Dr. Amarin was also involved in conducted  training seminars on energy, solar energy and smart grid technologies.  She also developed training modules that covered Energy,  Solar Energy and the Electric Grid. She has published over 40 journal  and conference papers and has submitted seven patent applications on  renewables and smart grid technologies. She is a Harvard Business School  alumna, holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering,  a M.S. in Program Management from Harvard University, a M.S. in  Engineering Management from the University of Central Florida and is  certified Six Sigma Green Belt and PMP.
